Over the Alps
Today was Mountain Day, aka 2nd Gear Day. We forced an eager but overburdened Beemer up and over seven alpine passes, sometimes reaching as much as 20mph on the steep bits. Downhill was more fun, with occasional squealing tyres and melty brakes. It was hard and occasionally mildly terrifying driving. Our reward was some truly spectacular and beautiful Swiss scenery, and a strong showing in today's supercar-spotting challenge. It was a shorter but far more challenging day than yesterday, and we're looking forward to more relaxing roads tomorrow. We've also got to diagnose the suspension problem that developed today, but we're hopeful it's not serious. Looking forward to some Italian sunshine. It's also Stig day!
